How to get there

With North Shields Metro station on the doorstep and excellent bus links, The Beacon Shopping Centre is easily accessible for residents and visitors alike. We are conveniently located in the centre of North Shields, all on one level, and main entrances are fitted with automated doors to facilitate access. We provide car parking adjacent to the shopping centre.

By car-From the South head up the A19, through the newly improved Tyne Tunnel (toll fee due) and follow the signs for North Shields town centre.
From the North head down the A19 turning off when you see the signs for Wallsend, Royal Quays. Follow signs for North Shields town centre.

By metro –North Shields metro station is immediately opposite the shopping centre, with trains stopping every 10-15 minutes.

By bus -Various buses regularly stop outside the shopping centre. These include services 1, 10, 11, 19, 53, 57A, 306, 307, 317, 335 and 392, giving you a chance to travel from as far as Newcastle and Cramlington.
Visitors can also use the ferry service across the River Tyne.

Parking at The Beacon Centre
Our 2-level multi-storey car park with 420 parking spaces (including dedicated disable and parent bays) offers convenient access to both the shopping centre and town centre. The entrance of the car park is via Saville Street, post code NE29 6QN.  
Important: The Car Park is now managed by Hozah and UKPA  All payments must now be made via one of the methods below. Should you have a parking question or query, please contact the Hozah support team at support@hozah.com, who will be happy to assist. 

When to pay  – You should pay at the end of your stay, just before returning to your car. You’ll need your vehicle registration handy when paying. 

How to pay  -There are three ways to pay: 
1. Hozah® Autopay (online via your phone)  Hozah® Autopay is an automatic parking payment system that detects when registered vehicles enter and exit the car park, and then automatically collects payment based on your length of stay. Set up once and Hozah® will automatically collect payment for your current parking, as well as any future parking at this or any other Hozah® Autopay car park. Register online at hozah.com/autopay 
2. Hozah Pay by Web (online via your phone) Don’t want to register for Autopay? You can just make a one-off payment for your current parking session online via card, Apple Pay or Google pay. Pay online at hozah.com/1148
3. Pay at the kiosks  Pay stations are located on Levels 5 & 8 (cash and card)
4. Once you’ve paid, you can simply drive out of the car park.

If you registered for Autopay, you don’t need to register again – your payment will be taken automatically each time you visit the car park. It’s the fastest and most covenant way to pay!

Disabled Parking Blue Badge holders should correctly display a valid disabled badge when parking in a disabled space. Blue Badge holders are not exempt from parking fees.
